While the tech world continues to move forward, becoming more accessible for more people, too many still get left behind. It is one of my core beliefs that digital and print content should be perceivable, parseable, and accessible for all.
The work that I most care for is in achieving this goal, which seems scary and lofty, but really isn't. All it needs is human care and attention, and a good developer or designer who knows how to make things shine for everyone.
Frontend development, CSS, and semantic HTML is my bread and butter.
Front-end development has grown and evolved over the years, but the fundamentals remain the same: everything comes down to HTML, CSS, and (of course) Javascript.
I know and love the fundamentals so no matter what framework or processing systems are used, I can figure it out, and know what I want to see at the end.
I have worked full-stack and am happy to do so, but my core strength will always be front-end development.
While most of my career has been in development and web development, I actually started my career with formal education and experience in graphic design, primarily focused on print.
Print design and art were my first loves, and I still enjoy practicing design production to this day.
I know my Adobe, Affinity, and Figma, I know what kerning means, I can handle paragraph and character styles and margins, and I can read or create a style guide.
All this experience has helped my development career and my collaborative work with design teams. I love every opportunity to dive in and lend my skills to print.
